Used to Limitations and Not Even Noticing -The layers you've “normalized” and how to dissolve what you didn't know was holding you back
Most of us think we've already done a lot of inner work.
That we're doing pretty great.
And many of us are.
But here's what I keep discovering in my own journey:
There are always more layers.
Limitations we've gotten so used to. We don't even see them anymore. Emotional patterns we've normalized. Restrictions we've accepted as "just how it is."
We don't realize how much MORE freedom, how much MORE love, how much MORE aliveness is waiting to be discovered.
What if you're only experiencing 60% of what's actually possible in your life?
The Problem: You've Normalized Your Limitations
Here's the thing about long-standing emotional blocks and limiting beliefs:
You've adapted to them.
They've become part of your baseline experience. Like living in a house with dim lighting for so long, you forget what bright rooms feel like.
You might say:
"That's just how I am"
"I've always been this way"
"It's realistic to expect..."
"I'm doing pretty well compared to most people"
But these statements reveal something crucial: you've stopped questioning whether these "settings" can be changed.
In my work with hundreds of men over the past three decades, I've found that most of us are operating with energetic agreements—like switches in a fuse box—that were set years or even decades ago:
Agreements about how much love we're allowed to receive
Beliefs about our worthiness and capacity
Roles we took on in childhood that no longer serve us
Pain layers we compressed and learned to live with
These settings seem hardwired. But they're not.
Why Mental Approaches Often Fall Short
If you've done therapy, read self-help books, practiced meditation, or tried positive thinking, you've likely experienced this frustration:
You understand the problem mentally, but the pattern persists.
You know your trigger is irrational. You've analyzed where it came from. You've set intentions to change.
And yet, it keeps showing up.
Here's why:
Most approaches work at the mental level—understanding, reframing, or managing your responses.
But in my experience over 30+ years of intensive spiritual practice (Siddha Yoga, Tantra Yoga, and more than 500 shamanic drumming journeys), the real dissolution of root causes happens at the energetic level.
Think of it this way:
Your emotional blocks aren't just thoughts or memories. They're energetic fields—compressed layers of old emotions that live in your energy body (what yogic traditions call the prana body).
Mental work can help you understand them. But energetic work dissolves them at the root.
The Fuse Box: Your Ecosystem of Agreements
Imagine your inner world as a fuse box.
Each switch represents an agreement you've made with yourself—consciously or unconsciously—about how life works:
"I need to stay small to be safe"
"Showing emotion is weakness"
"I can't trust people fully"
"Success requires suffering"
"I'm responsible for others' feelings"
Some of these agreements were made in childhood. Others were inherited from your family line. Still others were absorbed from culture without conscious reflection.
These switches have been in their default setting for years.
Never investigating them means they keep running your life on autopilot—draining your life force, limiting your joy, restricting your capacity for love and connection.
But here's the powerful truth:
Once you become aware of these settings, you can change them.
This is why experienced practitioners and coaches are increasingly seeking training in shamanic methods—they've hit the limits of talk-based approaches and are discovering what actually works at the energetic root level.
The Soul Bath Method: Energetic Technology, Not Philosophy
After decades of practice and hundreds of shamanic journeys, I developed the Soul Bath™ method—a simple, daily practice that works at the energetic root level.
This isn't vague "let it go" advice.
It's a precise technology for dissolving old agreements and establishing new ones.
Here's how it works:
Step 1: Identify the Limitation
Through what I call "Inquiry Space Time," you investigate the roles, beliefs, and agreements that may not be serving you.
You ask:
What patterns keep showing up in my life?
What triggers keep arising?
What beliefs am I operating from without questioning them?
Step 2: Call Up the Energetic Field
In your daily Soul Bath practice (which takes just 20 minutes), you call up the specific energetic field of that limitation.
For example: "I call up the energetic field of my agreement about needing to stay small to be safe."
You visualize this field appearing in the spirit space in front of you. You feel its presence.
Step 3: Dissolve It
You then speak: "I now dissolve this agreement in the liquid rainbow light."
You visualize it dissolving—all the way back to neutral source energy.
This isn't just imagination. In shamanic practice, you're working in the spirit realm where these energetic structures actually live.
Step 4: Establish the New Agreement
Once the old field is dissolved, you create a new one:
"I now establish a new agreement: I am safe to be fully seen and expressed."
You feel this new energetic field forming.
Step 5: Anchor It with Self-Love
You invite this new field into your chest. You place your hands on your heart and hold it there with your own self-love energy.
You say to yourself: "I hold this new agreement safe, close to my heart."
Step 6: Repeat Until the Switch Completes
Here's the key that most practices miss:
You repeat this twice daily until the new "setting" is firmly established.
Why? Because old agreements are like riverbeds—your energy is used to flowing along them. In Sanskrit, this is called a vasana (energetic habit).
One journey, one intention, one workshop isn't enough. The old riverbed will try to reassert itself.
But persistent, regular practice over weeks or months permanently changes the switch.
Eventually, energy must follow consciousness.
While Soul Bath™ focuses on emotional blockages and soul part healing, many men discover they're ready to apply these same energetic principles to another crucial area: sexual energy. Learn how tantric energy transmutation uses the same root-level approach for sustained masculine vitality, as an advanced level integrated into the Soul Bath™ method.
Real Example: My Own Work This Week
Let me share what I'm working on right now—because this practice isn't theory for me. It's alive and ongoing.
This week, I identified a limitation I've been carrying:
"Laid back, hedging energy"—a pattern of making myself smaller in my leadership to avoid being "too much" or "too marketey."
I realized I've gotten so used to this buffer that I didn't even notice it was limiting my capacity to serve men fully.
So here's what I'm doing:
Twice daily, I:
Call up the energetic field of "laid back hedging energy"
Feel it arrive in the spirit space in front of me
Dissolve it in the liquid rainbow light—all the way back to source
Establish a new energetic field: "constructive dominance"—the capacity to lead powerfully, claim space fully, and direct with clear intention
Invite this new field into my chest, hands on heart, holding it with self-love
Repeat until the fuse box switch completes
I'll know it's done when the new setting feels natural—when "constructive dominance" is simply how I operate, not something I have to remember or force.
This is the power of Soul Bath: methodical, energetic transformation of patterns that seemed unchangeable.
Why This Works (And Other Methods Don't)
Here's what makes Soul Bath different:
1. It's Energetic, Not Just Mental
You're not trying to think your way out of a pattern. You're dissolving the energetic structure that holds it in place.
2. It's Regular, Not Occasional
One workshop or therapy session creates a moment of clarity. But without daily practice, the old riverbed reasserts itself.
Soul Bath is designed to be sustainable—20 minutes, twice daily—so you can maintain momentum over weeks and months.
3. It Works with Soul Parts
Many emotional blocks aren't just beliefs—they're frozen soul parts from difficult moments in your past.
A version of you at age 8, for example, might still be stuck in overwhelming emotion, unable to process what happened.
In Soul Bath, you learn to "hold" these soul parts with your adult self-love, comforting them and helping them thaw and integrate.
Soul parts are slow to respond—but with persistent, gentle practice, they unfreeze and release old pain.
4. It Creates Real-Life Results
After 2-3 weeks (or 2-3 months for deeper patterns), you'll notice:
Triggers that used to derail you barely register
Chronic pain dissolves (because it was caused by compressed energetic layers)
You feel "fuller"—more present, more solid
People notice a change in your eyes, your energy, your presence
Life situations that felt stuck suddenly shift
This isn't just feeling better. This is fundamental transformation.
The Soul Parts Experience: Becoming "Fuller"
One of the most beautiful outcomes I've witnessed—both in my own life and in the hundreds of men I've worked with—is what happens when frozen soul parts integrate.
You've probably had moments in your life when you froze—when something was too overwhelming to process, so part of you just... stopped.
That 8-year-old version of you, staring at a shouting parent, not knowing how to respond.
That teenager who got rejected and decided love wasn't safe.
That young man who failed publicly and decided to play small forever.
These soul parts are still there—frozen in those moments.
And until they're brought back, there's literally less of you available in the present.
Through Soul Bath, you learn to:
Call up these soul parts
Hold them with your adult self-love
Connect them with healing energies (like the "lower world mother soul" or "father soul" in shamanic practice)
Help them thaw, release old emotions, and integrate into your adult self
When this happens, you fill out energetically.
People describe it as:
"There's just more of me here"
"I feel solid in a way I never have before"
"It's like I got back parts of myself I didn't know were missing"
This is visible—in your eyes, sometimes even in subtle changes to your face and body.
You become more fully yourself.
Experiencing this depth of healing, often awakens something unexpected: a calling to facilitate this work for others. If you're feeling that pull, discover what it takes to become a certified facilitator of Soul Bath™ and Integral Men's Initiations™.
But first, How to Start: The Soul Bath Practice
The full Soul Bath practice has three phases:
Phase I: Connect and Clear
Take your Soul Bath posture (sitting, grounded)
Connect with the Earth energy beneath you
Ask to be cleared of stagnant energy from the day
Let fresh, inspirational energy flow up into you
Phase II: Soul Work
Call up 1-3 specific topics you're working on:
Old agreements to dissolve
New agreements to establish
Soul parts to hold and heal
Pain layers to clear
Speak your soul work sentences aloud
Visualize the energetic shifts happening
Anchor new agreements with self-love
Phase III: Bathe and Integrate
Release all doing and thinking
Simply sit in the healing energies flowing through you
Let them work on levels you can't consciously direct
Rest in the nourishing, replenishing flow
Total time: 20 minutes (5-10 minutes can work too when you're busy)
What to Expect
When you start this practice, you'll likely notice:
Week 1:
Feeling clearer and more energized
Sleepiness dissolves (even before coffee)
A sense of positive momentum
Weeks 2-3:
Specific triggers start to lose their charge
Old patterns become more visible (so you can work with them)
A feeling of "filling out" emotionally
Weeks 4-8:
Permanent shifts in how you respond to life
People comment on changes they notice in you
Life situations that were stuck start to move
Months 3-6:
Deep soul parts integrate
Chronic issues (emotional or even physical) dissolve
You discover capacities you didn't know you had
This is methodical magic.
Not instant transformation, but sustainable, permanent change.
The Question That Changes Everything
Here's what I want you to ask yourself:
What if the limitations I've accepted as "just how I am" are actually just old settings in my fuse box?
What if there's 40% more freedom, love, joy, and aliveness available—and I just don't know it yet because I've gotten used to operating at 60%?
Most men never find out.
They live their whole lives managing triggers, coping with patterns, accepting "good enough."
But you don't have to.

A Final Thought
I've been doing deep spiritual practice for over 30 years.
Siddha Yoga. Tantra Yoga. More than 500 shamanic drumming journeys.
And I'm still discovering layers I didn't know were there.
Limitations I'd gotten so used to, I'd stopped questioning them.
This week, it was my "laid back hedging" pattern.
Next month, it'll be something else.
This is the work.
Not arriving at some perfect, finished state.
But methodically, lovingly dissolving the layers that cover your original light—one practice at a time, over weeks and months and years.
Until you discover what you didn't know was possible.
Until you experience the maximum of what's available in this body, in this life.
That's what Soul Bath offers.
Not a quick fix.
A sustainable practice for becoming fully yourself.
